Southern US Trade Association is Helpful to Producers

SC Ag Commissioner Hugh Weathers, former president of Southern US Trade Association, also known as SUSTA, is very familiar with how SUSTA helps small businesses tap new export markets that are otherwise unreachable without funding assistance.

The commissioner explains that SUSTA is a non-profit agricultural export trade development association comprised of ag departments of 15 southern states and the Commonwwealth of Puerto Rico.  Through SUSTA, companies interested in expanding trade can apply for the 2012 Market Access Program "branded".  The program provides up to 50% reimbursement for advertising, exhibiting at trade shows and changes to packaging and labels.

To learn more, Commissioner Weathers suggests calling the SUSTA office at 504-568-6010.
