Small Grains Field Days Conclude Tomorrow Afternoon

The third of three small grain field days gets underway Tuesday afternoon at the Piedmont Research Station near Salisbury. Registration gets underway at 4:00 pm and the tours start at 4:30, concluding about 6:30 with a meal.

Several wheat varieites, as well as barley plots will be on display.  Of particular interest this year will be the stripped rust in wheat.  In this area, common rust is usually the rust seen, but this year stripped rust has made an appearance.
