SC Commissioner Weathers: SC State Fair Opens Wednesday
The South Carolina State Fair kicks off tomorrow. SC Ag Commissioner Hugh Weathers is here to tell us more about the schedule of events.
- The fair will be held from October 13 to October 24 at the State Fair Grounds in Columbia, SC.
- After holding a drive-thru fair last year, the state fair is back in full capacity and ready to host vendors and visitors.
- With exhibits, over 70 rides, entertainment opportunities, and more than 90 food stands, the state fair has something for everyone to enjoy.
- Be sure to stop by the arenas and barns to catch junior cattle, horse, swine shows. The fair’s roots are in agriculture and I love to see our youth showcase their hard work each year.
- This year, October 22nd is “SCDA Day at the Fair.” SCDA staff will be under the tent next to the Cantey Building to greet you and give away some Certified SC Grown swag. Stop by to learn more about what the South Carolina Department of Agriculture does for the state.
- Fair organizers will adhere to the latest CDC, State and local COVID mandates in place at the time of the event.
