SC Commissioner Weathers: Fall Plant Festivals are Underway!

Fall is officially here, and that means the annual fall plant and flower festivals hosted by the SC Department of Agriculture are coming up! SC Commissioner Weathers Hugh is here to tell us more.

  • Our fall festivals are starting soon across the state. Now that the weather is cooling down, it is a great time to celebrate the harvest season and find the perfect plants for your home garden.
  • Pee Dee: October 1-3, at the Pee Dee State Farmers Market, Friday through Saturday from 8am to 6pm and Sunday from 10am to 5pm
  • There will be a wide variety of vendors with products ranging from pumpkins, to mums and marigolds, and even lawn décor.
  • If you miss out on the Pee Dee Festival, be sure to attend upcoming Plant and Flower fest in Columbia, October 8-10, at the State Farmers Market in West Columbia, Friday through Saturday from 8am to 6pm and Sunday from 10am to 4pm.
  • Be sure to explore other activities at the Farmer’s Market while you’re there, like the Market Restaurant and wholesale vendors.
