SC Ag Commissioner Weathers Observes the Soybean Checkoff’s 20th Anniversary

Last year marked the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the US Soybean Board and the national soybean checkoff.  SC Ag Commissioner Hugh Weathers  says that since the inception of the national soybean checkoff 20 years ago, the US has produced 50 billion bushels of soybeans, increased demand by 140% and had a 212% increase in exports. In South Carolina, soybeans are the number one row crop commodity with a value at over $145 million.
