SC Ag Commissioner Promotes 2013 Dates & Locations for Pesticide Disposal

The dates and locations for the SC Pesticide Recovery program are set.

“The reason it took a bit of time, is that we wanted to spread evenly around the state and make it as convenient as possible.

We start up May 21st with a few sites and then again in June. Its an opportunity that we are making available for producers to get rid of unwanted, unused, out dated pesticides. And its free. They can bring 55 gallon drums or 1000 pounds.

There are a few guidelines. It is for commercial users, not household fertilizers or gas cylinders. Those kinds of things cannot be brought in.
The first one is on May 21 in Chester. Then we go to Anderson the next day. Then to Johnston. All are 9 till 3.”
