SC Ag Commissioner Hugh Weathers on South Carolina Crop Condition

South Carolina's agricultural crops are in fair shape, according to South Carolina's Ag Commissioner Hugh Weathers.  As we've heard, the Midwestern crops are in very poor shape, on average due to drought, and yield projections are declining weekly.

While the eastern seaboard was in the same boat last year, but the 2008 Farm Bill and it's inherent disaster programs and proceedures, but not this year.  Those jprograms expired with the 2011 fiscal year in September.

Weathers explains that this a different proceedure in place to declare a county a disaster due to drought that is more subjective.
