Registration Open for 2012 Tobacco Day

Registration is now open for the 2012 Tobacco Day, taking place on Thursday, December 6 at the Johnston County Extension Center in Smithfield.

This year’s program focuses on educating producers on Good Agricultural Practices, commonly referred to as the GAP Program.

To help North Carolina producers be more efficient and competitive in today’s free market system, the GAP program focuses on all aspects of tobacco production including: crop management, environmental stewardship and labor management.

The event, hosted by NC State and the Cooperative Extension Service, will feature insight from both industry and academic leaders and will conclude with the induction of this year’s Tobacco Greats.
