Producers Still Have Time to Sign-Up for DCP and ACRE
Enrollment for the 2012 Direct and Counter-Cyclical Program and the Average Crop Revenue Election Program ends June 1st. USDA Farm Service Agency Administrator Bruce Nelson says producers who want to participate in either program must enroll their eligible farms and need to do so before the deadline. He says electronic DCP is a great option for enrolling during this busy planting season. Nelson says the electronic DCP saves time, reduces paperwork and speeds up contract processing. Another option is to visit a nearby FSA county office to complete the 2012 DCP or ACRE enrollment form.
Producers have had the option to participate in DCP or ACRE since 2009. Those who initially chose to remain in DCP do have the option of switching to ACRE during the current enrollment period. Those who chose to enroll in ACRE cannot switch back to DCP.
