NC Forest Service Lunces Fire Prevention Campaign

North Carolina's Ag Commissioner Steve Troxler has some alarming statistics about wildfires in the first four months of 2012, and their cause…burning of yard waste. 

Due to this common, yet preventable cause, the NC Forestry Service has begun an awareness advertising campaign in print, TV and radio that will go through the middle of May.  The Public Service Announcements were paid for with a federal grant. is dedicated to serving the agricultural industry in the Carolinas and Virginia with the latest ag news, exclusive regional weather station readings, and key crop market information. The website is a companion of the Southern Farm Network, provider of daily agricultural radio programming to the Carolinas since 1974. presents radio programs, interviews and news relevant to crop and livestock production and research throughout the mid-Atlantic agricultural community.
