NC Commissioner Troxler: The Got to Be NC Festival Seeking Tractors and Vendors

Planning is under way for the Got to Be NC Festival, which will be held at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh May 19-21. Organizers are seeking tractor enthusiasts to display their tractors and vendors.

  • The warm weather last week is a reminder that spring is just around the corner, and with that comes the Got to Be NC Festival which runs May 19-21 at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.
  • People like to compare it to the State Fair, which I understand because it has rides, food, music, farm animals and agricultural displays.
  • But the Festival is its own unique event because it hosts the Food Lion Local Goodness Marketplace featuring North Carolina made food and beverage products to sample and purchase.
  • Plus, it has some of my favorite things – a display of around 1,000 tractors and antique farm equipment and a daily tractor parade.
  • It’s a great family friendly event that offers free admission and parking.
  • We are still looking for tractor enthusiasts to bring in their tractors and antique farm equipment. We have a good showing each year of all the tractor “colors” and brands.
  • People really enjoy seeing these vintage tractors and how much the technology has changed through the years.
  • Tractors in working order can participate in the daily tractor parade, which is always fun. I usually lead the parade, so I get to drive a lot of different tractors.
  • There are also still booth spaces available for:
    • members of our Got to Be NC program,
    • independent vendors
    • and concessionaires.
  • Applications for all vendor locations are due by April 1 and information on applying to be a vendor is also available at the webpage I mentioned.
  • I am looking forward to the Festival and anticipate a good turnout for the three-day event.
  • I hope listeners will put the Got to Be NC Festival on their calendars and come join us May 19-21 at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.
