NC Cash Soybeans Jump with Futures

At the livestock auction held Friday in Siler City a total of 1,465 cattle and 78 goats were sold.  Compared to last week, breaking type slaughter cows were 2.00m lower; boning type slaughter cows were mixed, 1.50 lower to 2.00 higher. 

The North Carolina broiler-fryer market was steady and the live supply was adequate to meet the moderate demand.  Average weights were desirable to heavy.  The estimated slaughter for Monday in North Carolina was 2,930,000 head compared to 2,918,000 head last Monday.

Beans:  Demand moderate.  Market slightly lower.  Bushel crates Round Green Type $12-$14. 

CucumbersSupply fairly heavy.  Demand light.  Market slightly lower.  1 1/9 bushel cartons/crates medium $12-$12.35. 

EggplantDemand moderate.  Market slightly higher.  1 1/9 bushel cartons medium $10-$12. 

 Peppers, Bell TypeSupply fairly heavy.  Demand fairly light.  Market lower.  1 1/9 bushel cartons/crates Green jumbo $12-$14; extra large $12-$14 mostly $12, fair quality $10-$12.35 mostly $12; large $12-$12.35; medium $12-12.35.

 Tomatoes:  Supply fairly light.  Demand moderate.  Market about steady.  25 pound cartons loose extra large Vine Ripes U.S. Combination or Better $10.95-$11.95.

Tomatoes, Grape Type:  Supply fairly light.  Demand moderate.  Market about steady.  Flats 12 1-pint containers $7.95-$8.95. 

U.S. 2 yellow shelled corn was mostly four to five cents higher when compared to last report.  Prices ranged $3.77-$4.46 at feed mills and $3.86-$4.42 at elevators, new crop $3.77-$4.46.  U.S. 1 yellow soybeans were mostly 24 to 25 cents higher and were $13.57 at processors and $12.22-$13.32 at elevators, new crop $10.27-$10.93.  U.S. 2 soft red winter wheat was mostly five cents higher and ranged $3.93-$4.49 at the elevators.  Soybean meal, f.o.b. at processing plants, was $512.80 per ton for 48% protein.
