NC Cash Corn Holds Steady
At the livestock auction held Tuesday in Mt. Airy a total of 463 cattle and 56 goats were sold. Compared to last week, slaughter cows were mostly 3.00 to 4.00 higher. Slaughter bulls were mostly steady.
The North Carolina broiler-fryer market was steady and the live supply was adequate to meet the moderate demand. Average weights were desirable to heavy. The estimated slaughter for Wednesday in North Carolina was 2,930,000 head compared to 2,923,000 head last Wednesday.

Cucumbers: Demand fairly light. Market about steady. 1 1/9 bushel cartons/crates medium $12-$12.35.
Eggplant: Demand moderate. Market about steady. 1 1/9 bushel cartons medium $11-$12.35.
Bell Type Peppers: Demand light. Market about steady. 1 1/9 bushel cartons/crates jumbo Green $12-$12.35.
U.S. 2 yellow shelled corn was mostly steady when compared to last report. Prices ranged $4.07-$4.41 at feed mills and $3.81-$4.36 at elevators, new crop $3.62-$4.36. U.S. 1 yellow soybeans were mostly six to 14 cents lower and were $13.06 at processors and $12.06-$13.11 at elevators, new crop $10.01-$10.81. U.S. 2 soft red winter wheat was mostly steady and ranged $3.87-$4.57 at the elevators. Soybean meal, f.o.b. at processing plants, was $497.60 per ton for 48% protein.
