Four Vie for Position of Ag Commissioner in NC

The filing deadline for state office in North Carolina closed Wednesday at noon. The list of candidates for North Carolina Ag Commissioner is a bit more crowded for the May 8th primary than it was in 2008. On the Democratic side is, Walter Smith of Yadkinville, and Scott Bryant, of Siler City. On the Republican side is Bill McManus of Davidson and incumbent Steve Troxler of Brown Summit.
 

Democrat Scott Bryant bills himself as owner of BB Farms in Chatham County, as well as offering an animal service. Walter Smith, also a Democrat is listed as a branch manager of Farm Service Agency in Yadkinville.
