EPA Publishes Comment Period on RFS Waiver Requests by NC and Arkansas Governors
A 30-day comment period has been established by the Environmental Protection Agency on requests from Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe and North Carolina Governor Bev Perdue last week to waive the Renewable Fuel Standard requirements. So far – the Governors of Maryland and Delaware along with 190 members of the U.S. Congress and a coalition of livestock organizations have argued an RFS waiver is necessary. Virginia Representative Bob Goodlatte encourages those impacted by the RFS mandate to submit their comments to the EPA. EPA has 90-days to make a decision.
