Common Sense Dictates Safe Handling of Meat During Grilling Season

Memorial Day is the unofficial start to summer, and the grilling season.  SC Ag Commissioner Hugh Weathers says that grilling meat safely is just common sense.

When purchasing meat at the market, Weathers says to go straight home with it, and refridgerate it immediately.  When finished grilling, take leftovers and refriderate them immediately as well.  It is stil considered unsafe, particularly for hamburger, to cook to a doneness of less than medium well, and a thermometer comes in handy if you're unsure.
