Commissioner Troxler Glad to See Farm Bill Debate Get Underway

North Carolina's Ag Commissioner Steve Troxler is pleased that the 2012 Farm Bill will see debate, hopefully starting today in the Senate.  There are several things that he and his fellow commissioners would like to see addressed in the new legislation; funding for a Specialty Block Grant Program, and USDA Market Access Program to name a couple.

Troxler also would like to see programs that fight invasive plant species addressed, as well as an insurance program for pork and poultry farmers, similar to what is currently available for row crops. is dedicated to serving the agricultural industry in the Carolinas and Virginia with the latest ag news, exclusive regional weather station readings, and key crop market information.
