Changes to South Carolina’s Top Ten Agriculture Cash Receipts

Since 2006 South Carolina's cash receipts for agricultural products have increased significantly, and SC Ag Commissioner Hugh Weathers is pleased with the growth.  In 2006 agriculture cash recepts totaled $1.9 billion, and just last year, in 2011, that number was $2.6 billion; a 27% increase.

Recently, agricutlure surpassed toursim as South Carolina's leading economic driver, and South Carolina is one of the few states in the nation that has increased land mass for agricultural production.
