What if doctors could diagnose major depression in teens with a simple blood test?
 

Well, according to Fox News, researchers have developed a blood test that can actually diagnose major depression in teenagers. The test, which is the first of its kind, can even differentiate between subtypes of depression: that is, major depression and major depression that is combined with an anxiety disorder. This new blood test was developed by studying severely depressed and anxious rats. Scientists are hopeful it could help speed the diagnosis and treatment of major depression in teenagers.
