Animal Research Minute – Could stem cell injections extend our lifespan?

Well, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, scientists have extended the lives of mice, using stem cells, in a promising new study. The researchers worked with a special breed of mice that die prematurely and injected them with muscle stem cells from young animals. Remarkably, the mice lived three times longer than normal mice. Scientists think, with more research, stem cell injections could one day be used to slow the effects of aging in people.
