Animal Research Minute – Could mice hold a secret cure for baldness?
Well, the Daily Mail reports scientists say bald mice could help them develop treatments for people. Researchers grew two types of skin stem cells in the lab, until they formed immature hair follicles. When these follicles were implanted on the backs of hairless mice, the bald mice grew hair within 2 weeks. While this research has so far been limited to mice, scientists are hoping to test the technique on men in as little as three years.
