Well, Fierce Biotech Research reports scientists have discovered a compound taken from fish oil that effectively kills leukemia stem cells in mice. Mice with leukemia were given the compound for 7 days, at which point, the scientists found the compound cured the animals with very few side effects. Although more research is needed, this finding shows promise that fish oil – a supplement commonly taken for heart health – could be added to a person’s treatment regime to help fight leukemia.
