Animal Research Minute – Could a cure for baldness be coming soon?

Well, ABC News reports scientists have made great progress in understanding human baldness and this knowledge could lead to a real cure. Researchers studied bald men and mice and found high levels of a protein in the bald parts of their scalps. Applying this protein to hair follicles in a Petri dish caused hair to stop growing. This interesting discovery could lead to treatments that suppress this protein to stop or reverse hair loss.
