SC Commissioner Weathers: Holiday Markets

SC Ag Commissioner Hugh Weathers is here to tell us about some of the SC State Farmers Market holiday events.  What are some of the upcoming events in the state?

Commissioner:

It is officially December and holiday cheer is in the air.  There is plenty of fun for the family happening!

As you know, this past Sunday, the SC State Farmers Market in West Columbia held its Country Christmas Celebration with craft vendors and letters to Santa.

If you can get to Florence on Saturday, December 7th, the Pee Dee State Farmers Market is hosting the 4th Annual Christmas Market from 10:00AM until 5:00PM.

There will be a large selection of fresh cut Christmas trees provided by a vendor, the market that day will be drive through traffic only to accommodate 40 additional vendors featuring arts and crafts primarily focused on holiday and Christmas items.  Santa will be there from 10AM – 12Noon for photo ops for the visitors.  Free hot chocolate and cookies will be provided, and two of our fav food vendors will be there serving food under-covered dining.  There is no admission charge, free parking and free EV charging!

If you are near Greenville, Christmas Saturdays at the Market will be happening at the Greenville State Farmers Market on December 7th, 14th and 21st at 8:00AM until 12Noon.  Those are the three Saturday’s leading up to Christmas.

Get out there and buy specialty food items and gifts to compliment your holiday meal, or Christmas trees, wreaths, and regular seasonal products such as pecans, fruits and holiday vegetables to create your family food classics using SC Certified ingredients.

Remember to buy local and look for that Certified South Carolina logo!
