Next week, many of us will gather with our loved ones to celebrate Christmas. Commissioner Hugh Weathers joins me now.

This is an important time of year for all of us, including farmers.

It’s been a good Christmas tree season. Most local Christmas tree farms are already sold out for the season and closed, but I’ve heard it was a strong year. Lots of demand for more affordable local trees as prices continue to climb.

The harvest season is over, and this is a time to reflect. I invite all of you to share your farming histories and stories with younger generations around the holiday table.

I now have six grandchildren to celebrate Christmas with each year. It’s quite a big family that gathers each year.

Seeing the magic of Christmas through the eyes of a child helps me remember why this season is so meaningful.
