A Truck By Farmers For Farmers Hits the Market

Farmers and ranchers are hard on vehicles, but one manufacturer is listening and doing something about it. Fox Factory Vehicles in Trussville, Alabama has partnered with Certified Agriculture Dealers to develop the AGwagon using input and suggestions from a team of 14 farmers and ranchers, along with their own team of engineers. Flynn Woods is the Fox Factory Senior Manager of Product Development and says a lot of that input went directly into the AGwagon’s front end.

“The number one pain point with the farmers and ranchers was the suspension. They were concerned with wearing the suspension out in a very short time duration, so we went ahead and beef the suspension up with a three-inch BDS suspension kit, along with Fox 2.5 Performance Elite Series shocks, and a metal bumper on the front that replaces the OEM bumper. So this is going to provide a lot of protection on the front of the vehicle. In addition, we have a 15,000 pound Warn winch, all the front parking sensors, the cruise control module, all function in the same manner as they would whenever it left Ford’s assembly line.”

The name “AGwagon” comes from the legendary Cessna crop duster of several years ago, many of which are still in use. Woods says his team also put a lot of attention into the truck bed itself.

“With the moly bedside panel, no two farmers have the same wants or needs, so they’re able to add certain features, if they want to put a first aid kit and jerry cans in the back, or if they just want to load up all their tools in the back and attach them to the bedside, they can do that as well.”

Fox Factory also spared no expense on the interior and cockpit.

“The first thing you’re going to see is the custom leather that is custom designed by our team, and it has AGwagon actually debossed in the back of the seatback. You’ve also got your factory upfitter switches, so we’ve tied in all the electronics, so your Nacho lights all around the vehicle, as well as your airbag kit. Those are all tied into those upfitters so they’re really easy to access. Everything is weather tight in terms of all your electrical connections, so it’s built to last.”

Woods says the truck is attractive but completely purpose built and highly customizable. Farmers and ranchers can find out more at AGwagon.com.
