We are officially three weeks out from the Certified SC Showcase, and Commissioner Hugh Weathers is here to talk to us about the event.
- The Certified SC showcase is set to take place on March 27th at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. This event brings together farmers, chefs, producers, and consumers to celebrate and promote locally produced and grown goods.
- Registration is open until March 17th, 2025
- The day starts with some really great and informative educational panels we are excited for that cover topics like value-added products, disaster preparedness, marketing your agribusiness, and a panel with food hubs and aggregators.
- Our team has worked hard to find topics that would apply to several different people within the industry which is important.
- There will be a lunch following education sessions and then the trade show begins at 1 PM.
- We are still accepting vendors for the trade show and this applies to South Carolina producers with a product of some sort: some examples are a fruit and vegetable farm, microgreens, a barbeque sauce or other specialty food item, or even dairy.
- Our market development team works hard to assure buyers from different sectors are in attendance. This includes grocery stores, gift shops that sell south Carolina products, and school districts.
- The evening before the main event, “The Taste of South Carolina” reception will take place on March 26th at the USC Alumni Center, offering local ingredients and networking opportunities.
- You can visit agriculture.sc.gov/showcase for the full agenda, registration and hotel information or you can contact our Market Development Manager, Michael Cranford, at [email protected] for more information.
- Join us as we celebrate South Carolina’s agricultural industry and the farmers who make it all possible.
