The annual Ag Development Forum is slated for Feb. 6 during the Farm Show at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh. Commissioner Troxler will present his annual State of Agriculture remarks and will be joined by farmers and extension staff for a panel discussion on disaster recovery.
- The Southern Farm Show is coming Feb. 5-7 at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh.
- That of course means it is time for the annual Agricultural Development Forum, which be held Thursday, Feb. 6, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
- I hope listeners will join me for an update on the “State of Ag” in North Carolina, plus hear from N.C. State ag economist Dr. Jeffery Dorfman for his take on what we can look forward to in the coming year.
- With the disasters of 2024, it is more important than ever for farmers to stay up to date on the latest in agriculture.
- We continue to push for state and federal disaster assistance specifically for agriculture operations and everyone can be an advocate for disaster assistance.
- As part of the program, we will also have a panel discussion that includes farmers, an extension agent and community leaders talking about recovery efforts nearly four months following Hurricane Helene.
- Farm Credit is the sponsor of the Ag Development Forum and at the conclusion of the program, we will have lunch.
- If you are interested in attending the forum, please be sure to go online at www.ncagr.gov to register. The event is free.
- Again, I hope you will join me Feb. 6.
