2012 Cotton Field Day a Success

The bi-annual Cotton Field Day was Wednesday at the Upper Coastal Plain Research & Extension Center. North Carolina Cotton Producers president Donny Lassiter was pleased with the turnout:

“We had about 150 producers along with all the folks from industry. It was a great field day and everyone seemed to enjoy it and take something away.
Today was definitely the best field day weather we’ve ever had. We got to see some great research put on by the extension specialists.”

Clyde Boyle is the Superintendent of the Upper Coastal Plain Research Station:

“We had a great turnout and the research staff did an excellent job with the tours. It’s a great way to communicate with the growers and vendors in the area. We get to see what is needed and share advances that have been made.

There is a lot of work that goes into a day like today, but it’s very important to do. What we are doing here is important to the growers across the state.”
