Vaccinate Livestock for Rabies

North Carolina’s Ag Commissioner, Steve Troxler is strongly encouraging livestock owners to vaccinate against rabies.  There has been a slight uptick this year in farm livestock being infected by rabid wildlife, that results in the loss of the livestock, and is a danger to humans.

Symptoms and incubation period for rabies are vague, with symptoms ranging from depression to lack of appetite, and can look like colic in horses.  Incubation period is anywhere from two weeks to six months.
