On Thursday, September 19th, The NC Small Grain Growers Association exhibited in the University of Mount Olive’s 6th Annual AgFest which took place on UMO’s campus.
AgFest is a unique opportunity for FFA members from across the state to experience UMO, gain exposure to hands-on learning experiences in production agriculture, animal science, horticulture, landscaping, wildlife, forestry, and natural resources provided by some of the largest agribusinesses in the region.
Approximately 1,500 high school FFA members from more than 65 schools across the state attended the event taking turns rotating around the festival interacting and visiting with over 50 exhibitors. Each educational booth provided interactive opportunities for learning and actively engaged with students to spark interest in future careers. Students then received a ticket which could be used to play games throughout the day. Rotations began at 2:00pm and ended around 5:30pm, the event concluded with a concert featuring country singer Matt Stell.
