SC Agrculture Adds Print Publication to Tool Box

Last week we talked about the impact of agribusiness on South Carolina’s economy. It is significant, a $34 billion industry. We continue to work to try to educate the non-farming public about what agriculture means to the state and there is one more way to do that:

“We want to tell people about the amazing jobs people do in agriculture for South Carolina. Now we do have a magazine called “South Carolina: Our amazing Agriculture.” It tells the stories of so many facets of our industry, both agriculture and forestry. We partnered with a company in Tennessee that has done this for other states. Through our advertising recruitment, we are able to put the magazine out without any tax dollars. Anybody involved in agriculture will be very proud of this product. And others will learn something!

It’s not just pages of text, its very beautiful to look at, there are lots of photos and illustrations. The quality of the stories, the writing, the pictures and the information is very good. We want people not involved in agriculture to learn something and know what their neighbors are doing.

To get a copy, you can call the Department of Agriculture 803-734-2210.”
