The North Carolina State Veterinarian is recommending that not only household pets, but livestock be vaccinated for rabies. State Ag Commissioner Steve Troxler suggests to keep wild animals away from yards and pastures, and if a wild animal is seen acting strangely, such as a nocturnal animal out in daylight with no fear of humans and acting aggressively, contact Animal Control right away.
