New Program Gives Farmers a Chance to Test New Products

Monsanto is introducing an on-farm trial program. The Ground Breakers program will give farmers first-hand experience with pipeline products under commercial-scale planting conditions. According to Monsanto Corn Traits Marketing Manager Matt Kirkpatrick – the program not only gives farmers a chance to better understand product benefits – but an opportunity to give Monsanto feedback on the product. Monsanto will pilot the Ground Breakers program this season with the new drought-tolerant corn system, Genuity® DroughtGard™ Hybrids. Approximately 250 growers throughout the Western Great Plains region will have the opportunity to plant DroughtGard Hybrids on their farm.

Moving forward – Monsanto will evaluate which products may be a good fit for this new program. They already plan to evaluate a Ground Breakers program for the Roundup Ready® Xtend Crop System for soybeans pending key regulatory approvals.
