NC Senator Encourages Ag Community to Get Involved in Political Process

At the opening breakfast for the Southern Farm Show, NC State Senator, David Rouzer was the keynote speaker. In his talk, he implored farmers and members of the agribusiness community to get involved with their representatives, saying that the future of farming isn’t going to be dictated from the seat of a tractor, but from the state and federal governments:
 

The Southern Farm Show continues today from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh. The 7th annual Ag Development Forum kicks off at 10:00 am in the Holshouser building, where NC State economist Drs. Mike Walden and Blake Brown will speak on the state of the general and agricultural economy, then Commissioner Troxler will give his annual state of agriculture address.
Also at the farm show today, the North Carolina Pork Council annual meeting and conference is taking place in the Martin Building getting underway at 9:00 am.
