NC Awarded for Drone Use during Hurricane Florence

The state of North Carolina has been honored its innovative use of drones. North Carolina used the drones during last September’s Hurricane Florence to take photos and videos of damage and flooding.

The Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International hands out the award.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation received its award in the Humanitarian category.

More than 200 missions supplied eight thousand photos and videos to help state and federal agencies.
