Slaughter cows trended steady to $2.00 lower, feeder steers trended mixed, and heifers trended mixed when compared to the previous week. Average dressing slaughter cows brought $70.00 to $83.50. Average dressing slaughter bulls, 1000 lbs. & up, sold at $85.00 to $98.00.
N.C. Broiler-fryers: The market is steady and the live supply is adequate to meet the moderate demand. Average weights are desirable to heavy. The estimated slaughter for Thursday in North Carolina is 2,925,000 head compared to 2,862,000 head last Thursday.

Squash: demand fairly light. Market is slightly lower. 1/2 and 5/9 bushel cartons/crates small Zucchini 6.00-8.00. Small Yellow Straight neck were 6.00, med 4.00. 3/4 bushel cartons/crates small Yellow Crookneck 12.00, med 6.00-7.00.

No. 2 yellow shelled corn trended 3 to 4 cents higher when compared to last report. Prices ranged $4.60-$5.34 at feed mills and $4.49-4.89 at elevators. No. 1 yellow soybeans trended 8 cents lower and were $13.79 at processors, and $13.40-$13.70 at elevators. No. 2 red winter wheat was 4 cents higher and was $4.40 at the elevators. Soybean meal, f.o.b. at processing plants, was $536.60 per ton for 48% protein.
