Today is Forestry Day at the NC General Assembly. Forest owners, workers and stakeholders will be talking with lawmakers to share how important the number one manufacturing industry in the state is to the livelihood of thousands of North Carolinians. With More than 18 million acres of forestland and a payroll of more than $3.8 billion statewide, forestry has an enormous footprint. Chris Brown is Senior Director of Communications with the NC Forestry Association and tells SFN what Forestry Day is all about.
