High Season at North Carolina’s Farmers’ Markets

It’s the best time of year to be a farmer’s market. This is the height of the summer season. Everything that is grown in NC is on the market right now.

North Carolina Ag commissioner Steve Troxler:

“We have over 240 farmers markets in the state. We have everything from our four regional markets to community markets and roadside stands. We have blueberries, peaches, tomatoes, sweet corn, okra, greens and so much more.

North Carolina has over 125,000 acres of fruits and vegetables each year.

Chances are there is a market right in your own neighborhood. And the farmer that is selling the produce is the one who grew it.
