Growth Energy Tells Consumers They

Growth Energy has launched a new national advertising campaign – You’re No Dummy – to fight back against Big Oil’s effort to stop the growth of renewable fuels. So far – Growth Energy President and CEO Tom Buis says Big Oil has done everything it can to block competition from renewable fuels – and now the oil industry is trying to get Congress to repeal the Renewable Fuel Standard. Buis says this simply is a fight about market share…

“Big oil does not want competition. We are 10% of the nation’s gasoline consumption and they don’t want us to be more of it. The more renewable we use, the less oil we need so they are doing everything they can to mislead Americans to protect their profits and maintain their monopoly. We are calling them out on it with our own campaign to educate consumers.”

This includes new ads, grassroots efforts and the launch of the You’re No Dummy website ( Ads will run on major cable networks – including Fox, CNN, MSNBC and RFD TV – along with other markets across the country. Ads may also be viewed on the website…

“The goal of this campaign is to help Americans better understand that the oil industry is trying to keep them from having access to choice at the pump. Renewables not only help to save them money, but also gives consumers an opportunity to use an American product that creates American jobs, promotes energy independence and improves our environment.”

Buis says this clearly is a David versus Goliath battle…

“On one side you have all the power with the oil companies using their big bucks and influence against farmers and the renewable fuels industry. We cant match them dollar for dollar but we are doing our best to make sure they don’t use their influence to control congress and have control over the transportation fuels marketplace. Our message is simple – You are no dummy, don’t let the oil industry treat you like one.”
