Bayer CropScience Confident Supply of LibertyLink Good for 2013 Crop Year
Today we are joined by Malone Roseman, the tech service representative for Bayer CropScience in the MidAtlantic region.
Why has demand for LibertyLink System increased so dramatically?
“Demand increased all across the country due to the many benefits that our LibertyLink Trait and our seeds offer. These include fast and effective control of many of the most troublesome weeds found in corn, cotton and soybeans grown in the southeast. Our LibertyLink varieties are high quality and high yielding. “
With concerns about LIbertyLink herbicide supplies, what are you telling growers to help them prepare for the upcoming growing season?
“Growers should really work with their retailers and seed sellers to forecast their needs when they book their LibertyLink seeds. Bayer CropScience encourages growers to focus their use of Liberty on LibertyLink crops to help ensure its available.”
How does Bayer help growers plan for a profitable season?
“Beginning in September, growers were and are able to forecast their LibertyLink seeds through our Link Up program for seeds. This allows us to match Liberty herbicide production to these seed needs. In addition, if growers purchase a minimum of 150 acres of LibertyLink cotton, soybeans or canola seeds through the Link UP offer, they will receive a cash equivalent rebate from Bayer. These can amount to $30 a bag for LibertyLink cotton, $5 a bag for LibertyLink soybeans and $30 a bag for LibertyLink canola seeds. They can learn about these offers at the site : www.innovationplusprograms.com or speak with their local Bayer CropScience rep.”
Can the 150 acres be a combination of those products?
“Yes, it can be any combination of the LibertyLink cotton, soybeans and canola.”
