Boost to NC's Farm to School Program Includes Marketing | | | Program 8116 (download mp3)

Recently, Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation of North Carolina awarded a 3-year 1.2 million dollar grant to the NC Farm to School Program. NC Ag Commissioner Steve Troxler explains that some of the funds went to expand and upgrade the program's transportation, and the rest of the funding will go to marketing, not only the Farm to School Program to farmers but to school systems, and within the schools themselves to help educate children on where their food comes from, as well as nutrition.
