Posted on Tue, Sep 20, 2011

North Carolina's Ag Commissioner, Steve Troxler is pleased that the North Carolina General Assembly approved the Century Farms Program once again.  The Century Farms Program is a program in which farms that have been in active cultivation by the same family for 100 years or more are, once verified, recognized by the state.  North Carolina currently has more than 1,600 Century Farms, and the Commissioner hopes to see that number reach 2,000 in the coming years.

Every four years, there's a reunion held during the State Fair of Century Farms members.  The next reunion will be in 2012.
