North Carolina's Ag Commissioner Steve Troxler extends Christmas Greetings, also reminding the state's residents of the mind-boggling number of commodities produced in this state; the bulk of which are on our Christmas dinner tables. Food isn't the only thing that the commissioner says came from the state's agricultural resources, there's also the decorations, the trees, poinsettias, greenery, and other plants that decorate our homes.
There are more than 52,000 farms in North Carolina, responsible for 700,000 jobs connected in some way with the industry, creating 20% of the state's total workforce.
And finally, Mr. Troxler wishes all a very Merry Christmas.
