Posted on Tue, Sep 21, 2010

North Carolina's Ag Commissioner Steve Troxler says that September is Honey Bee Appreciation Month in North Carolina.  In conjunction with that, the NC Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and the NC State Beekeepers Association have launched a new initiative to prevent the sale of honey products containing additives such as corn syrup that are marketed as "pure honey".

The Commissioner explains that consumers should feel confident that when they are buying pure honey, they're getting pure honey

F.Y.I.  NC Cooperative Extension Cumberland County Center is offering a Beginning Beekeeping Course beginning October 4, 2010 at 6:00 pm.  For more information contact Kenny Bailey at 910-321-6871 email:  kenneth_bailey@ncsu.edu
