With summer coming to an end, North Carolina farms have one more surprise--muscadines! This year's muscadines are big and bountiful and growers are seeing an ideal crop.
NC Ag Commissioner Steve Troxler says that muscadines were first noted by Sir Walter Raleigh centuries ago and have since had a prominent presence in the state. (and in SC, too!)
