Trade Missions Pay Off for NC Agriculture | | | Program 1270 (download mp3) Posted on Tue, Jun 8, 2010 |
International markets continue to play an important role for North Carolina tobacco. NC Ag Commissioner Steve Troxler will be making a trip to Germany & Switzlerland from June 13th through the 18th with an 11 person delegation of tobacco growers to meet with officials from three of the largest tobacco leaf buyers in the world.
The Commissioner plans to discuss several topics with them, such as pending international and US tobacco regulations and how they could affect North Carolina tobacco farmers. The goal of the meetings is to work through a variety of potential challanges so the NC trade can be increased overseas.
