South Carolina Ag Commissioner Hugh Weathers says that while their neighbor to the north, North Carolina offers Christmas trees on a national scale, South Carolina offers many different varieties other than the North Carolina staple of Frazier fir, as well as many other natural Christmas decoration staples such as garlands and wreaths, all from SC grown trees.
Also, this coming Saturday, December 10, there will be a mini-market in the Corbett Buidling of the State Farmers' Market in West Columbia of SC grown and made products for gift giving this holiday season.
To learn more about either a choose-and-cut Christmas tree farm or to locate a pre-cut SC grown Christmas tree, visit their website, www.agriculture.sc.gov.
