In his weekly visit, SC Ag Commissioner Hugh Weathers encourages all those making special dining plans for Valentine's Day to check CertifiedSCGrown.com when making a restaurant selection. This Website offers a selection of 263 dining establishments state-wide that offer "Fresh on the Menu" fare, part of the Certified SC program.
In the Fresh on the Menu program, participating chefs agree to prepare menus that include at least 25% Certified South Carolina Grown foods and products in season and feature the Fresh on the Menu brand. Weathers explains that these chefs recognize the value in supporting local for not only their bottoms lines, but also for the difference South Carolina local products and produce make on the taste of food.
