South Carolina's Ag Commissioner, Hugh Weathers explains that another step is being made to achieve the 50 by 20 strategic concept of of $50 billion by 2020.  SCDA has aligned with the Department  of Commerce to use money allotted by the General Assembly to hire an individual that will be in the employ of Department of Commerce to recruit agriculture based businesses into the state.

The commissioner says that the funding for this position could last as long as five years, but if successful enough, funding could be allotted in the future by the General Assembly.
